Few printed works from the Renaissance carry the intellectual weight of this page from *De Divina Proportione*, where mathematical theory and visual art meet in a single, spare composition of ink on laid paper. Leonardo da Vinci contributed the geometric illustrations to Luca Pacioli's treatise on proportion, a collaboration that grew out of their years together at the court of Ludovico Sforza in Milan. Leonardo's draughtsmanship gave abstract mathematics a physical presence — his precisely rendered polyhedra and solids brought the book's arguments to life in a way that pure notation could not. The woodcut medium, printed in stark black with touches of red hand lettering, gives the page an austerity that suits its subject: the hidden geometry underlying beauty. Pacioli later wrote that without Leonardo's hand, the book could not have achieved what it did — a rare public acknowledgement of artistic collaboration in an era that rarely credited illustrators by name.
