Pet portraits, hand-painted from your photo.
Your dog or cat, painted properly. The most-requested commission we take: real oil, real canvas, and a likeness good enough that people ask where you had it done.

Animals are harder to paint than people, which is exactly why we do so many of them. Fur has direction, eyes have a specific wetness, and a nose that is a millimetre wrong turns your dog into somebody else's dog. Our painters work slowly on the head and quickly on everything else, which is why the faces come back right.
You can have the portrait straight — your dog on a plain ground, the way a nineteenth-century sporting artist would have painted it — or in a setting that means something: their spot on the sofa, the beach they love, a background taken from a different photograph. It costs the same either way; only the canvas size and the number of animals change the price.
One pet on a 16 × 20" canvas is £275$369€319CA$509A$519NZ$639CHF 299SEK 3,599NOK 3,449DKK 2,399PLN 1,379, delivery included, and a second animal is another £35$49€39CA$69A$69NZ$79CHF 39SEK 449NOK 449DKK 299PLN 179 at that size. Two pets who never sat still long enough to be photographed together are painted from two photographs, side by side as if they had. Prices for every size, and how they compare with other pet portrait options in the UK, are in our pet portrait prices guide.

What makes a good pet photo
- Get down to their eye level. A photo shot from standing height flattens the face.
- Daylight, indoors, near a window. Flash kills the depth in dark fur.
- Eyes sharp and open. Everything else — a blurred body, a bad background — we can fix.
The plain facts
- Painted by hand in real oil on canvas by professional portrait artists, with fine brushes in a smooth realist technique. Not printed, not a canvas transfer, not generated.
- Six canvas sizes, from 12 × 16″ at £220$299€259CA$409A$409NZ$509CHF 239SEK 2,849NOK 2,749DKK 1,899PLN 1,109 to 36 × 48″ at £549$739€639CA$1,029A$1,029NZ$1,279CHF 599SEK 7,149NOK 6,899DKK 4,799PLN 2,759. One person or pet is included in every price; each extra is from £35$49€39CA$69A$69NZ$79CHF 39SEK 449NOK 449DKK 299PLN 179, depending on the canvas.
- About three to four weeks to paint, plus delivery. Delivered worldwide, and delivery is included in the price; any import duty charged by the destination country is the buyer's.
- Once you order, a person checks your photograph within hours, 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday (UK time). If it won't make a good painting, you can send another or have a full refund.
- You get a photograph of your actual canvas before it ships, and nothing ships until you've approved it. If something is wrong, it goes back to the painter.
- Arrives unframed, rolled in a tube, ready for any framer near you to stretch and frame.

Starting from an old photo?
If it's torn, creased or faded, we can restore it first, free, and you'll see the preview before deciding anything. The painting can then be made from the restored version.

Questions, answered.
How much is a pet portrait?
A single pet starts at £220$299€259CA$409A$409NZ$509CHF 239SEK 2,849NOK 2,749DKK 1,899PLN 1,109 on a 12 × 16″ canvas, with worldwide delivery included. Each extra animal is from £35$49€39CA$69A$69NZ$79CHF 39SEK 449NOK 449DKK 299PLN 179, rising with the canvas size.
Can you paint two pets from separate photos?
Yes. Send a clear photograph of each and say how you want them arranged; the painter composes them into one picture. It is the usual way two-pet portraits are done.
Can you paint a pet that has died?
Yes, and many of the pet portraits we paint are memorials. Send the best photograph you have, even an old or imperfect one; a person checks it within hours, 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday (UK time), and tells you honestly whether it will paint.
Is it painted or printed?
Painted by hand in oil on canvas, with fine brushes in a smooth realist technique. Before it ships you get a photograph of your actual canvas to approve.
How long does a pet portrait take?
About three to four weeks to paint, plus delivery. It arrives unframed, rolled in a tube, ready for a framer.
