Couple portraits are the commission people buy for no reason at all, which is probably why they are the ones that land best. An engagement, a first flat, a move abroad, a year that was hard and is now over — the occasion matters less than the photograph, and the photograph is usually one somebody took on a phone without thinking about it.
Two subjects means one canvas price plus £59, so a couple on a 16 × 20″ costs £334 before the welcome discount and £267 after it. If you want the dog in as well, that is another £59 and, in our experience, the thing that makes the painting.
What to send us
- One photograph with both of you in it, or two separate ones we can compose together.
- Similar lighting across both photos if you're merging — it saves the painter inventing a light source.
- Tell us how close you want the crop: head and shoulders reads as a portrait, waist-up reads as a scene.
