The photograph most couples pick is not the formal one. It is the one taken sideways, halfway through the first dance, where you both look like yourselves. Those photographs make far better paintings than the posed shots do, because the painter has an expression to work with rather than a pose.
Wedding commissions are also the ones people most often want changed: a dress detail brought back that the light lost, a marquee turned into open countryside, a guest who is no longer welcome quietly removed. Say what you want and we will show you the plan before anyone starts painting.
Picking the photograph
- Faces bigger than a thumbnail in the original file. A wide shot of the venue won't carry a portrait.
- Ask your photographer for the full-resolution file, not the gallery download.
- Send two or three candidates — we'll tell you which one will paint best and why.
