William James Muller was one of the most gifted British draughtsmen of his generation, a Bristol-born painter who died at just thirty-three yet left behind an extraordinary body of work. Working across pen, brown ink, watercolor, and gouache on gray wove paper, Muller builds layers of tone that give the composition unusual warmth and depth for a work on paper.
