£59 a face, whatever the size
The first subject is included in the canvas price. Everyone after that — a second person, a grandchild, the dog, the horse — is a flat £59, and that charge does not change with the canvas. Bigger groups usually want a bigger canvas so every face has room to be a proper portrait, and we will tell you which size yours needs before you commit. Here is how it adds up in practice.

What the price covers — and what it doesn't
Included
- Oil paint on stretched canvas, painted by hand. Not a print, not a filter, not an AI render.
- One subject at every size. A person, a dog, a horse — the first one is in the price.
- UK delivery, on a stretcher or rolled in a tube depending on size.
- A free digital preview before you commit to anything.
- Progress photographs while it is on the easel.
- Approval before dispatch. Nothing ships until you have seen a photograph of the finished painting and said yes.
- Reworking if the face is not right. That is the job, not an extra.
Not included
- A frame. Every painting arrives unframed — deliberately. Framed canvases get damaged in transit far more often, and a frame bought near you will suit the room better than one shipped from the studio.
- Extra subjects, at £59 each. That is the whole of the extra cost — there is no per-face surcharge on top of it and no minimum group size.
And nothing else. No studio fee, no charge per photograph, no surcharge for a difficult background or a style that takes longer to paint.
Copying a master costs less
A reproduction is a hand-painted copy of a public-domain masterwork from the catalogue rather than a painting of your own photograph. Same oil, same canvas, same studio — a shorter price list, because the composition already exists. £129 to £459, unframed, UK delivery included.

What people ask before ordering
Does the style change the price?
No. A plain background, full Renaissance armour, a Van Gogh sky — all the same money. Canvas size and the number of subjects are the only two things that move the price, which is why the table above is the whole price list.
Is the £59 charged per photograph or per subject?
Per subject in the finished painting. Send six photographs of one person and it is still one subject; send one photograph with four people in it and it is four. Pets count the same as people — a dog added to a couple is £59, not a different price list.
When do I actually pay?
Nothing is charged until we have agreed the photograph, the size and the composition, and you have seen the preview. If the photo will not make a good painting we say so at that point — before you have spent anything.
How does WELCOME20 work?
20% off your first commission, applied to the whole order total — including any extra subjects, not just the canvas. Enter it at checkout. It applies to commissions rather than to catalogue reproductions.
Is delivery extra?
No. UK delivery is included in every price on this page. The painting travels rolled or stretched depending on size, and if it arrives damaged in transit we replace or refund it in full.
